We do that all the time when we make bank deposits. We go to the bank and we deposit a sum of money, something of value into the account that we choose savings or checking. Then we get confirmation. We get a slip from the teller that confirms that what we gave them was placed in the account. And then we know the bank, there is a depositors guarantee that at least to a certain extent, your money is guaranteed. So we're going to just use that metaphor in this message this morning to entitle it “a safe deposit” and use that metaphor of a bank deposit to look at three things. First, the deposit made in the account of God's will. Let them suffer according to the will of God. Secondly, the confirmation that you made, the deposit, the bank slip is in well doing there's your confirmation. And then thirdly, the deposit guarantee is the faithfulness of God unto a faithful creator. And of course the valuable deposit is what? Your life. Your soul. Your very life, your existence. Peter encourages the suffering saints to make a deposit of their entire being into the hands of a faithful creator.
