This is a very famous portion of scripture, but I want to back up to verse 13 to give you not only what the Lord says in verse 14, but what he said that prompted it in verse 13. Now God is speaking here in second Chronicles, seven to Solomon. The temple of God had been dedicated in the previous chapter. Solomon had built God's temple and as he dedicates it as it's consecrated, Solomon stands before it, and he stretches out his arms and he prays to God on behalf of the people and for that place to be a place where God would reveal himself unto them and amazingly. So God revealed himself in such a powerful way that even the priest were not able to go about their work. They couldn't enter into the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord had filled his house.
