Growing in Faith (during the Pandemic)

Title

Growing in Faith (during the Pandemic)

Description

And yet Jesus tells us in the gospel reading do not be anxious, do not worry. And the application here for us today and in these past months is obvious. Our way of life has been interrupted. Our jobs possibly have been interrupted. Our school has been interrupted the way that we live our life freely has been changed by this pandemic. And undoubtedly, undoubtedly, if we look in history, we know that these things have happened before. And I want to say at the outset, I do not in any way, condone reckless behavior, condone unsafe behavior to pretend as though this virus does not exist. This is not the point of the gospel. And this is not the point of the message. We should be safe. We should be careful. We should protect ourselves. Protect one another. Let us, however, look more deeply into these readings today to see how can we apply the words of Christ? The, the true commands, God, these words, which are unfailing, these words, which are the very essence of truth, how do they apply to us in a pandemic? And the first I want to start with is the Lord's words, which is within the sermon on the Mount, the Lord, Jesus Christ says the lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. Now this word good sometimes is translated single or singular.
