We reject the worldly notion of speaking smooth things and prophesying deceits (Isaiah 30:10) to buy peace for us in this world. We reject the peace and prosperity of man. We do not need the acceptance of the Devil and those that serve him. We refuse to deceive the ungodly and tell them what they want to hear. They desperately want our words to conform to their desires, feelings, and sinful philosophies. They do not worship the Living and True God (1 Thes. 1:9). Instead, we must trumpet to our generation their transgressions (Isaiah 58:1). We know that the masses will prefer the false prophets and be offended at our reproofs and plainness of speech. Our King said at Mat. 5:37 Let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. When you talk, make it doubly plain what you have said and if you do not do this, it is evil and from Satan. Do not be double-minded, “hedge your bets,” or be ambiguous in your speech, particularly when it comes to matters of God and religion. That is what the scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees did (Mat 7:29) and we must run from that.
