This year because of the coronavirus pandemic ashes will not be received in the form of a cross on our foreheads. Instead they will be sprinkled upon our heads. Why? Because we need to continue to promote the health and safety of all that's why we have various precautions in place for the reception of holy communion and the sacraments of confirmation and anointing of the sick.
