In the Jewish tradition, if something happens three times it is considered to be a chazakah, or a new presumptive state. Tonight we enter our third consecutive Shabbat with shut doors locked and establish a new chazakah of being unable to physically celebrate Shabbat together. This reality pains me greatly, and I look forward to when we can safely break this chazakah and return to life as we know it.
