We must not deal in death as individuals, as communities, as nations. Right now, we don't get to trust our own instincts and make decisions for ourselves about how viruses work or what's best for us alone. We don't get to do most of what we might choose because we are trusting that those we have empowered to care for all of us will do so and will advise us on what is best for all of us, because we must have leaders that can be trusted with the common good.
