Analogies to Mythic Narratives

Text of excerpt, if available

And like, some of us were praying. I don't know, Four or five months ago, Lord, I need a change. I need to change God. This isn't working. God, I'm not happy. God, I don't feel joy. Remember that Lord Lord help me, you know, set my priorities. And a lot of times when We're feeling uncertain, Unstable Little thing, big thing, I reached for something negative because negative Is what I know it. Here's what we might want to remember. Normal. This is a story that we tell ourselves. And so the Israel lies. God help them. They're standing at the red sea, which is a body of water that they have absolutely no context for because their normal has been to be slaves their entire life. They never went to the red sea. The biggest body of water, those slaves had ever seen was the NOL river. It's another coming up on this big body of water. They have zero context for they're in completely unfamiliar territory. And they're like, Oh no, I just want to go back to the way it used to be. They crave the familiar. They, they, they, they, they, they, when they felt terrified, they craved the familiar word. There are no graves, Egypt. In other words, you know, I I'd rather die in Egypt than to live in uncertainty. It's that the spirit that Christ gave us, I'd rather die in Egypt than live in uncertainty.
